Produced by Svetlana in Leningrad (now St Petersburg) from 1979, the Elektronika MK-42 has the same case as the MK-41, but with much fewer functions — making it essentially a run-of-the-mill arithmetic microcalculator for simple calculations.

Unlike the Elektronika MK-59 and S3-22, the Elektronika MK-41 can round numbers to the nearest hundredth.

The device has a vacuum fluorescent display with twelve digits and uses natural point placement technology.

The MK-42 runs on 220V AC mains supply.
